Shoot

Nothing lost by accident.

Your work is saved as you type. Deleted items wait in Recently Deleted. Undo works across the project. Backups are files you keep wherever you like.

Backups you can hold in your hand

Create Backup saves the whole project as one .ofbackup file. Export Full Project makes an .ofproject package to move to another computer. Restore either from the home screen.

  • Keep backups on an external drive or any folder you choose
  • Older projects are backed up before an upgrade

If the app closes unexpectedly

Typing is saved continuously. If the app or the computer stops, the project offers to recover when you open it again.

  • Toasts offer Undo right after a change
  • Activity lists what changed in the project

Good to know

  • Recently Deleted keeps items for 30 days.
  • Projects are not encrypted by OpenFrame. Use your computer's disk encryption if you need it.
  • Projects on network paths are refused. Cloud-synced folders get a warning.

Windows and Mac

  • Windows: Ctrl+S saves a checkpoint, Ctrl+Z and Ctrl+Y undo and redo project changes.
  • Mac: autosave only. Cmd+Opt+Z undoes a project change; Cmd+Z stays text undo.

Every workspace uses the same safety net: autosave, project undo and Recently Deleted. Backups and packages move a project between computers or people.
