Your work stays on your computer. This page covers the app, the website, and the few times either one uses the internet.

Who is responsible
Vighnajith Advisories Private Limited (“we”) publishes OpenFrame Studio and runs this website. Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, we are the data fiduciary for the personal data described on this page. We are a company registered in India.
The app
- Your projects stay on your computer. Scripts, notes, images and everything else you add are stored in files on your device. The app does not upload them.
- No OpenFrame account. There is nothing to sign up for, so we hold no profile of you.
- No telemetry, analytics or crash upload. The app sends nothing about how you use it. If something goes wrong, you can create a diagnostics file yourself, read it, and decide whether to send it to anyone.
- OpenFrame AI runs on your computer. What you type, and the project text it reads, are not sent to us or to any online AI service.
When the app uses the internet
- The store. The Microsoft Store or the Mac App Store installs and updates the app and handles the free trial, the payment and any refund. The store receives your purchase details under its own privacy terms. We do not receive your card or payment details.
- OpenFrame AI download, only when you start it. The AI model files are not part of the installer. When you choose to download them, the app fetches them once from the public download service of the model publisher. That service sees the request and your IP address, as any website would. It receives no project content and no account. You can also import the files by hand, with no download.
- Mac free trial check. On the Mac, while the free trial runs, the app confirms the trial. It sends Apple’s signed purchase records for the trial (product, transaction identifiers and dates) and a one-time random number to a licence check service run for OpenFrame. It sends nothing from your projects, and no name or email address.
- Links you open. A web link saved in your Idea Vault opens in your normal browser, under that site’s own policy.
Windows and macOS themselves may send diagnostic data to Microsoft or Apple, depending on your system settings. We do not receive it and the app cannot switch it off. See the Microsoft privacy statement and the Apple privacy policy.
This website
- It sets no cookies for tracking or for remembering preferences, runs no analytics and no advertising or tracking scripts, and has no forms, accounts or email sign-up.
- It loads no scripts, fonts or images from other companies.
- Your choices (platform, website theme, app screen theme, price region, recent searches) stay in your own browser and never reach us. The full list is on the cookies and browser storage page.
- Our host may set strictly necessary security cookies to protect the site from abuse. See the cookies page.
The site is hosted by Cloudflare. When you open a page, Cloudflare receives your request and handles your IP address, the page asked for, the time and your browser type, in order to deliver the page and keep the site safe. Cloudflare acts for us in doing this and may keep standard logs, under its own policy. Cloudflare serves pages from computers in many countries, so your request may be handled outside your own country.
The site uses no analytics today. If that ever changes, this page will change first and will say what is counted.
What we do with this data
We use it only to deliver and protect the website and to run the app’s trial check described above. We do not sell it, rent it, or use it to advertise to you.
Your rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may ask us for a summary of the personal data we process about you and who we share it with, ask us to correct or erase it, use our grievance process below, and nominate another person to exercise these rights if you die or become unable to. Because we hold so little, a request will often get the answer that we hold nothing about you.
If you are in the European Union, the United Kingdom or another place with its own data protection law, you may also have rights under that law, such as access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection and portability, and the right to complain to your local data protection authority. We will honour the rights that apply to you.
Grievances and contact
To use a right or raise a concern, use the contact page. If your concern is not resolved, you may be able to complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Children
OpenFrame Studio and this website are made for adults who write and produce films. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18, we do not track or profile anyone, and we show no advertising. Store accounts for younger people are managed by the store and the family.
Changes
If the app or the site starts handling data in a new way, we will update this page and its date before that change goes live. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
