PackagesSend a screenplay for review
Export a Script Review Package that someone else can read and comment on.
Before you start
- The project has a screenplay draft.
Steps
Choose File > Share for Review > Export Review Package (script)….
The Share for Review menu has two items: Export Review Package (script)… and Beat Board Package….
In the Script Review Package window, check Source draft.
The window asks: How do I send this draft to someone for review and safely bring their notes back? Source draft shows the draft you are sending, for example Example-Short (imported) (current) · 10 scenes. Open the menu to pick another draft.
Choose a Scope: Full script, Script + comments or Specific scenes only.
Full script sends the screenplay text. Script + comments sends the text together with your comments. Specific scenes only lets you pick scenes.
To include your comments, choose Script + comments.
Include comments and Include attachments are the other choices. The number beside Include attachments is how many attachments there are.
To send only some scenes, choose Specific scenes only.
A list of Scenes to include appears, with every scene numbered and named. Until you choose at least one scene, the window says Choose at least one scene.
Tick the scenes you want to send.
The message goes away once a scene is chosen. Include private notes (not allowed in review packages) is always off: private notes never leave your project in a review package.
Click Export Package… and choose where to save the file.
The file ends in .ofscriptreview. Cancel closes the window.
Read Package exported. and click Show in folder.
The window says: Send it by any normal file transfer. Nothing in the package changes your project, and later changes to your project don't change the package. Close finishes.
What you get
A .ofscriptreview file ready to send.
Watch out for
- Private notes are never included in a review package.
- The package is a snapshot. If you edit the screenplay afterwards, the reviewer still has the earlier text.
