Idea VaultWork on several items at once
Select a few items, then move, tag, pin, copy or delete them together.
Before you start
- The vault has at least two items.
Steps
Hold Ctrl and click two or more items, or click the small box that appears at the corner of a card.
Shift+click selects a range. Ctrl+A selects everything shown and Esc clears the selection. A dark bar appears at the bottom: the number selected, Move to Folder, Add to Collection, Tag, Pin, Copy to Global Vault, Delete and a close button called Clear selection.
Click Tag.
The dialog says Add tags to the number of items you chose. Tags help you find things; they never classify. Type tags in the Tags box separated by commas, for example rain, night, locations, and click Add Tags.
If you click Add Tags with the box empty, read the message.
The box says Type at least one tag.
Right-click one of the selected items.
The menu acts on all the selected items. It reads Move 2 items… and Delete 2 items. Send to Story is not offered, because only one item can be sent at a time.
Click Move to Folder, choose a folder and click Move.
Add to Collection works the same way with the collection list. See Group items with collections, folders and tags.
What you get
All the selected items were changed in one step.
Watch out for
- Delete in the selection bar deletes every selected item. The message at the bottom has Undo and the items wait in Recently Deleted.
