Shooting schedule

Move scenes onto days, between days and back to Unscheduled

Place scenes where you want them by dragging or from the strip menu, and put them in order.

Beginner4 stepsWindows

Before you start

  • At least one shooting day exists.

Steps

  1. Drag a strip from the Unscheduled pool onto a day column, and drop it where you want it in that day.

A strip follows your pointer after you move it a few pixels, and the column it is over lights up. Where you drop it sets its place among the scenes and breaks of that day. Dragging a strip within a day reorders it. Dropping it on the Unscheduled pool takes it off its day. Breaks can be dragged the same way.

  2. If you prefer not to drag, click the ... button on an unscheduled strip. It is labelled Scene N actions.

The menu has Details… and, under MOVE TO, every shooting day by name. Choose a day to put the scene on it. Off days are not listed.

  3. Choose a day, for example Shoot Day 4 · Thu 12 Nov 2026, for Scene 9.

The message reads Moved Scene 9 to Shoot Day 4 with Undo. The scene now sits in that day's column, and the warnings chip now reads 3 warnings.

  4. Open the ... menu on a strip that is already on a day.

Besides Details… and MOVE TO, which greys out the day the scene is already on, it offers Move up and Move down to change its order within the day, and Remove from Day to send it back to Unscheduled. Move up is greyed out for the first scene and Move down for the last.

What you get

Scenes sit on the days you chose, in the order you chose.

Watch out for

  • Nothing moves unless you move it. OpenFrame never places scenes for you.
  • Every move can be undone with the Undo button in the message at the bottom.
  • With strict validation on, a move that would create a warning asks you first. See Turn on strict validation and use Keep Anyway.
