Shooting schedule

Ask for grouping suggestions and apply one yourself

Get advice on scenes that share a location, and move them together if you agree.

Intermediate3 stepsWindows

Before you start

  • At least one shooting day exists.

Steps

  1. Click Suggest Grouping in the toolbar, then click Ask for suggestion in the panel.

The Grouping suggestions panel, labelled Schedule assistance, lists scenes that use the same location, for example Scenes 1 and 9 all use the same location. Each card has the location as a chip, the advice (You may reduce location changes by grouping them.), and where most of the scenes already are, for example Most of them are already on Shoot Day 1.

  2. Click Dismiss on a suggestion you do not want.

The card disappears from the panel. When none are left the panel says No obvious grouping improvement found. If no schedule exists it says Create a shooting schedule first.

  3. Click Apply manually on a suggestion you like.

The Group these scenes? dialog says which scenes will be moved to the chosen day, after its current scenes, and that nothing else changes and you can undo it. Shooting day offers each shooting day, starting on the day most of the scenes are already on. Click Move scenes to do it, or Cancel to leave.

What you get

The scenes are on one day, if you chose to move them. The message reads Grouped scenes on Shoot Day N with Undo.

Watch out for

  • Suggestions are advice only. The panel says: OpenFrame never rearranges your schedule silently.
  • Apply manually is greyed out until at least one shooting day exists. Scenes already on the day you pick are left where they are.
