Shooting schedule

Create a shooting day

Add a shooting day with an optional date and notes, then open it.

Beginner5 stepsWindows

Before you start

  • A shooting schedule exists.

Steps

  1. Click Create Shooting Day in the toolbar.

The orange button opens the Create Shooting Day dialog. A new day is added after your existing days.

  2. Read the dialog. Click the Shooting date box to pick a date, and click Day notes to type notes.

Shooting date is optional: a day can exist without a date, and you can set one later with Edit date. Day notes is free text for the whole day. Close, the x at the top, and Cancel leave without creating a day.

  3. Choose a date, for example 12 Nov 2026, and type the notes, for example Tower climb and rooftop, night shoot. Click Create Day.

The picture shows the date 2026-11-12 and those notes. Create Day adds the day and closes the dialog.

  4. Look at the board and the message at the bottom.

The message reads Created a shooting day with an Undo button, and the new day, here Shoot Day 4 · Thu 12 Nov 2026, appears as an empty column that says No scenes scheduled. Drag scenes here. The chip now reads 2 warnings and the headers of Shoot Day 1 and Shoot Day 2 show Call sheet: Needs refresh. See Read and handle warnings.

  5. Click the day title, Shoot Day 4 · Thu 12 Nov 2026, to open the day page.

A new day shows No scenes scheduled. with Add Scene and Off Day buttons. Add Scene takes you back to the schedule so you can move scenes in. The panel on the right shows Day notes with the text you typed, and Create Call Sheet is ready for when the day has scenes.

What you get

A new shooting day is on the schedule, empty and ready for scenes.

Watch out for

  • Click Undo in the message at once if you created a day by mistake.
  • A day without a date does not show on the Calendar grid. Give it a date with Edit date.
