Call sheets

Set scene start times and the cast calls

Add a start time to each scene and a call time for each actor.

Beginner4 stepsWindows

Before you start

  • A draft call sheet is open and the day has scenes and cast.

Steps

  1. Scroll to SCENE SCHEDULE and read the table.

The heading shows how many scheduled scenes the day has, for example 4 scheduled scenes. The columns are Start, Sc (the scene number), Heading / description, I/E, D/N, Pages, Cast (the cast ID numbers) and Location. Everything except Start comes from the schedule and the breakdown.

  2. Click a Start box and type the time the scene should start.

The box may show a faint about time as a suggestion when the schedule can estimate one. A suggestion is not entered until you type it. Meal, travel and custom rows from the schedule, such as Lunch, have a Start box too.

  3. Scroll to TALENT / CAST and fill in the Actor boxes that read Needs input.

The table has ID, Actor, Character, Status, Pickup, Makeup, Call and Contact and notes. ID and Character come from the project. Actor is carried over from the cast list when the project has it.

  4. For each actor, type the Call time. Add Status, Pickup and Makeup times where they apply.

Call reads Needs input until you enter a time. The Status box shows SW, W, WF as a hint for the usual working codes. Pickup and Makeup are free text. Contact and Notes sit side by side in the last column.

What you get

Each scene has its start time and each actor has a call time on the sheet.

Watch out for

  • You cannot change the scene order, heading or cast from here. Change the schedule or the breakdown, then use Refresh from schedule.
  • Contact details you type in the cast table are part of this sheet. They are not saved to the Cast and crew list.
