Update a call sheet after the schedule changes

Review what changed in the schedule and bring a draft sheet up to date.

Intermediate6 stepsWindows

Before you start

  • The schedule changed after the call sheet was prepared, so the sheet reads Needs refresh. The sheet is a draft, not final.

Steps

  1. Open the sheet. Read the yellow banner under the header.

The chip next to the title says Needs refresh. The banner says Needs refresh. The schedule changed after this call sheet was prepared, gives the time, and lists what changed, for example Scenes, Locations. It ends: Nothing changes until you review the update. Your typed values stay as they are until you apply the update.

  2. Click Review Update. Refresh from schedule in the Source panel does the same.

The list's row menu offers Refresh too. It is greyed out unless the schedule has changed since the sheet was prepared.

  3. Read the Update call sheet: review changes dialog.

It says Nothing is applied until you click Apply Update. The bullets at the top sum up the change, for example 1 scene changed (added 13) and 1 location changed (added Pedda Revu - Beach). Lines such as Scenes: added 13. give details. The table compares the Area, what is NOW IN CALL SHEET and what it will be AFTER UPDATE. Rows that change are tinted and marked (changes). A last line says Your call times, notes, contacts and added sections are kept where they still apply.

  4. Click Apply Update. Cancel, or the x, leaves the sheet as it is.

The dialog closes and the sheet is updated.

  5. Look at the sheet and the message at the bottom.

The message says Updated the call sheet from the schedule, with an Undo button. The chip is back to Draft. In the picture the sheet now has 5 scenes and 5 locations.

  6. If you open the review when nothing differs, the dialog shows a green note.

It says This call sheet already matches the schedule. The comparison table still shows both columns. You can click Cancel.

What you get

The sheet matches the schedule again and the status is Draft.

Watch out for

  • If the update is not what you wanted, click Undo in the message right away.
  • A final sheet is not refreshed. It gets a new revision instead.
