ScheduleSet a scene's time and page count
Enter an estimated shooting time, a start time or a page count for one scheduled scene, or take it out of its day.
Before you start
- A scene is in a shooting day.
Steps
Click Actions on the strip and choose Details….
Details… opens the drawer for that scene on the right of the Board.
Read the top of the drawer.
It says Scheduled scene, then the scene number, the scene heading and its first line. Below that are Scheduled, the day and date, the Location and the Cast. Close shuts the drawer.
Type a length in Estimated shooting time if you know it.
The field says Missing until you enter something, and the note says: Entered by you. Never guessed. The estimates add up in the day total and the day timeline.
Type a time in Start time as HH:MM if the scene must start at a fixed time. Leave it empty otherwise.
The note says: Leave empty to follow the day's order. The scene never moves. A start time does not move the scene to another place in the day.
Type a number in Page count override only if the page count from the screenplay is wrong for planning.
The field shows the screenplay value, for example 6/8, and says: From the screenplay: 6/8. Leave empty to use it.
Click Remove from Day to send the scene back to the Unscheduled pool. Click Open in Screenplay or Open in Breakdown to see the scene itself.
Those two links take you to the scene in the Screenplay or the Breakdown, where you can fix a missing location or cast member.
What you get
The scene carries your own estimate, start time or page count, and the day totals use them.
Watch out for
- Times are only what you enter. The Schedule does not guess how long a scene will take.
