Idea VaultOpen an item and edit its details
Rename an item, change its text, add tags and a research flag, and pin it.
Before you start
- The vault has at least one item.
Steps
Right-click an item.
The menu has Open (Enter), Rename (F2), Move…, Pin, Copy to Global Vault and Send to Story. Below a Research flag heading are Unchecked, Checked, Needs Expert Check and No flag. At the bottom is Delete (Del) in red. Clicking an item also opens its drawer.
Click Open. Edit the Title (optional) and the Note.
The drawer's top row has Pin (or Unpin), Move and Copy to Global Vault. Changes save by themselves and the line under the note reads Saved automatically. The drawer also shows when the item was added and last modified. Click the x at the top right to close it.
Choose a value in Research flag.
The options are No flag, Unchecked, Checked and Needs Expert Check. The note under it says Verification flags are yours to set. OpenFrame never marks research as true just because you imported it. A flag shows as a label on the item card.
In Tags, type a tag in Add tag… and press Enter or a comma. Click the x on a tag to remove it.
Tags are for finding things. They never classify. Collections and Folder are further down the drawer, with Add to Collection… and Move… beside them.
What you get
The item has the title, text, tags and flag you want.
Watch out for
- Text edits save as you type, but wait for Saved automatically before you close the window if you typed in the last second. Closing the drawer also saves.
- For pictures, files, audio and video the rename button is in the drawer. Click Rename and the Title box is selected.
