StoryboardsMake another storyboard for a scene
Keep a second set of panels for the same scene, for example an alternative way to shoot it.
Before you start
- A scene is chosen and it already has a storyboard.
Steps
Click the ... button called Storyboard actions, then click Another storyboard for this scene….
The menu for a storyboard that belongs to a scene has Rename…, Change scene…, Make standalone, Another storyboard for this scene… and, after a divider, Delete storyboard. The Another storyboard entry is only there for scene storyboards.
In the New Storyboard dialog, check the Scene and type a Name if you want one.
The scene is already chosen. Name is optional here and, if you leave it empty, defaults to the scene heading. A hint under the Scene list says the scene heading and identity come from the screenplay.
Click Create Storyboard.
The same dialog also opens from New Storyboard at the top of the page. Its Scene list offers No scene (standalone storyboard) and every scene of the script. Cancel closes it with nothing made.
What you get
The scene now has two storyboards, and a second list next to the picker lets you switch between them.
Watch out for
- The second storyboard of a scene is separate. Its panels do not change the first one.
