Storyboards

Open the storyboard of a scene

Switch between scenes and other storyboards, and start a scene's storyboard by adding its first panel.

Beginner3 stepsWindows

Before you start

  • The project has a screenplay with scenes.

Steps

  1. Click the Scene or storyboard list under the header and pick a scene.

The picker shows scene numbers and headings, for example Scene 1: EXT. RAYAPURAM BUS STAND - DAY. A scene marked review has changed in the script since you planned it. The panels of that scene's storyboard appear below, and the tag shows how many there are.

  2. Pick a scene that has no storyboard yet, such as Scene 3.

The tag says 0 panels and the page says Create panels for this scene. You do not need to make a storyboard first. Adding the first panel creates the scene's storyboard for you.

  3. Click Import Image, Draw / Sketch or Empty Panel, or use Add Panel at the top right.

Each choice adds a first panel and the storyboard is created with it. Adding panels is explained in Add panels to a storyboard.

What you get

You are looking at the storyboard of the scene you chose.

Watch out for

  • If a scene was removed from the script, its storyboards move to a Removed from script group in the picker. A banner says the scene was removed and its panels are kept for reference. They are hidden from active planning.
  • When a scene changed after you planned it, a banner says Scene N changed since planning. Your panels are kept. Check them against the script, then click Mark reviewed.
