Shooting scheduleStart a shooting schedule from your screenplay
Choose the production source and create the schedule so every scene waits in the Unscheduled pool.
Before you start
- A project with a screenplay.
- A Production Source chosen in Breakdown.
Steps
Open Production and click the Schedule tab. If the page says Create a shooting schedule from your screenplay. and offers Open Breakdown, click Open Breakdown.
This is what a project shows when no Production Source has been chosen. The page says: Choose a Production Source in Breakdown first. The schedule is built from the scenes of that screenplay draft. Choose the source there, then come back to the Schedule tab.
Back on the Schedule tab, click Create Shooting Schedule, then click Create Schedule in the dialog that opens.
Once a source is chosen the same page names it, with its scene count, and offers Create Shooting Schedule. The dialog shows the Screenplay source (screenplay title, draft and number of scenes) and says that all of the scenes will start in the Unscheduled pool. Cancel closes it without creating anything. This step has no picture because the page above is the version without a source.
Look at the new schedule on the Board.
The blue banner names the Production Source and counts the scenes. The Unscheduled pool on the left holds a strip for each scene. Shooting days appear to its right once you create them.
What you get
A shooting schedule exists for the chosen screenplay draft, with every scene unscheduled.
Watch out for
- The schedule follows one screenplay draft, the Production Source. If you change the source in Breakdown, the Schedule tab reports it and your scheduled scenes keep their days. See Review script changes.
