Shooting schedule

Filter the schedule to find scenes

Show only the scenes that match a location, an actor, day or night, a length, a day or a script change.

Beginner4 stepsWindows

Before you start

  • The Schedule tab is open on Board or List.

Steps

  1. Look at the row of drop-downs under the toolbar.

They start as All locations, All cast, Day and night, Any length, Scheduled and unscheduled, Any breakdown, All days and Any revision state. The options are: location (every location in the schedule), cast (every confirmed actor and character), Day scenes or Night scenes, Up to 1 page, 1 to 3 pages or Over 3 pages, Scheduled or Unscheduled, Breakdown complete or Breakdown incomplete, any one shooting day, and Changed in the script or Unchanged.

  2. Set Filter by day or night to Night scenes.

On the Board, scenes that do not match fade, and their places stay exactly where they were. The row adds Showing 15 of 36 scenes and Clear filters. Filters work together: each extra drop-down narrows the result further. A filter changes only what you see, never the schedule.

  3. Click List with the same filter on.

On the List, scenes that do not match are removed from the table, so you see only the night scenes. The filter stays set when you switch views.

  4. Try a combination that nothing matches, for example Night scenes, Unscheduled and Shoot Day 1.

The row says Showing 0 of 36 scenes and the table says No matching scenes. Click Clear filters, or change one drop-down, to get scenes back.

What you get

You see only the scenes that match, and Clear filters brings them all back.

Watch out for

  • An empty result usually means two filters contradict each other, such as Unscheduled together with a single shooting day.
