Shooting scheduleSet crew call, start and wrap times and read the day timeline
Enter a crew call, a shooting start and a target wrap, and see estimated start times for every scene and break.
Before you start
- A shooting day with scenes exists.
- Scenes have estimates (see Open a scene and set its estimate, start time and page count).
Steps
On the day page, find Day times in the right panel. Click Crew call and type a time such as 07:00. Do the same for Shooting start and Target wrap.
Each box takes a clock time in 24-hour form. A value saves when you click away or press Enter. The message reads Changed the call and wrap times of Shoot Day N with Undo.
Read the timeline under the three boxes.
Once you enter a crew call or a shooting start, the timeline lists Crew call, Shooting starts, each scene with its estimated start time and length, each break, and the Estimated wrap. Start times come from the scene estimates and breaks in the day's order. A scene with no estimate is marked No estimate. A time earlier than the crew call counts as after midnight.
Look for red chips in the timeline.
Overlaps by 45m is shown on a row whose time runs into the row before it, here Lunch at 13:00. A line such as 1h free before shows a gap. If the estimated wrap is later than your Target wrap, a chip says Estimated wrap 13:45 is after the target wrap.
Type 3h in Day target for a day whose scenes add up to more.
The day shows a warning: Estimated day duration exceeds the target on Shoot Day 4 (6h 30m of 3h). The panel marks Estimated duration with an Over target chip, and on the Board the day header says over target. Leave Day target empty to use the schedule's target length.
Type something that is not a time, for example soon, in a time box.
A message appears: Enter the crew call as a time such as 07:30. The other boxes name themselves in the same way. A day target that is not a length gives: Enter the target day length, e.g. 10h. Nothing is saved until the value is valid.
What you get
The day has call and wrap times and a timeline you can use to check that the day fits.
Watch out for
- The timeline is an estimate from the figures you entered. It is not a promise: a scene's real length may differ.
- A scene's own Start time, entered in its details, fixes that scene to that time. The scene is never moved by it.
