Shooting schedule

Add meal breaks, travel, company moves and notes to a day

Put breaks and notes between the scenes of a day, with a time and a duration that counts towards the day.

Intermediate7 stepsWindows

Before you start

  • A shooting day exists.

Steps

  1. On a day page, click Add break and choose Meal Break, Travel, Company Move or Custom Note. On the Board you can use the day's ... menu, under ADD TO THIS DAY.

The menu has the four kinds of break. The choice you make is preselected in the next dialog.

  2. Read the Add to this day dialog.

Type is Meal Break, Travel, Company Move or Custom Note. Label is optional and defaults to the type. Time is optional, for example 20:30. Duration counts toward the day estimate and takes values such as 45m or 1h 30m. Notes is free text.

  3. Type Lunch as the Label, 13:00 as the Time, 45m as the Duration and a note such as Packed meals at the bus stand. Click Add.

The picture shows those values. Add puts the break on the day. Cancel and Close leave without adding.

  4. If Duration is not a length, for example abc, read the message under the notes.

It says: Enter a duration such as 45m or 1h 30m. Nothing is added until it is valid.

  5. Choose Custom Note as the Type and leave the note empty.

For a Custom Note the Label box becomes Note *, which is required. The message reads: Write the note for this marker.

  6. Look at the Board.

The break appears as a grey strip in the day, for example LUNCH at 13:00 (45m). The message reads Added a break with Undo. Drag the strip to a new place to reorder it, or onto another day to move it there.

  7. Click a break strip to edit it.

The dialog is titled Edit break and has the same fields with their values. Save keeps the change, Cancel closes it, and Delete at the bottom left removes the break. The message reads Edited a break or Removed a break.

What you get

Breaks and notes sit on the day in the order you set, and their durations count in the day's total.

Watch out for

  • A note with a time shows as, for example, Note: GOLDEN HOUR FROM 17:40, BE READY FOR THE ROOFTOP on the day page.
  • Travel and company moves can push a day past its target. The warnings chip says so. See Read and handle warnings.
