ScreenplayMove a scene that is in production planning
Reorder a scene and confirm the warning when the scene is already used in the production plan.
Before you start
- A screenplay with at least two scenes is open.
Steps
Right-click the scene and choose Move down, or choose Move up for any scene except the first.
You can also drag the scene's handle in the list. Move up is greyed out for the first scene and Move down for the last.
If the scene is used in production planning, read the dialog This scene is already used in production planning and click Continue.
It says changing the order updates the script number but does not automatically reorder the shooting schedule. It names the scene and its new number, for example that Scene 1 will become Scene 2, and repeats that production data follows the scene, not its number. Cancel leaves the scene where it is.
What you get
The scene sits in its new place and the scene numbers follow the new order.
Watch out for
- The shooting schedule is not reordered for you. Check the schedule after moving a scene that is already scheduled.
