Screenplay

Add, rename and delete a screenplay

Keep more than one screenplay in a project and manage them from the picker.

Intermediate5 stepsWindows

Before you start

  • A screenplay is open.

Steps

  1. Click the screenplay name at the top left of the page.

The menu is headed SCREENPLAY. It lists each screenplay with its number of drafts and which one is open, for example THE TOWER AT PEDDA REVU · 2 drafts · Open. Click a screenplay in the list to switch to it. Below are New Screenplay…, Rename Screenplay… and Delete Screenplay…, which is red.

  2. Choose New Screenplay…, type a title, and click Create Screenplay.

The new screenplay has its own drafts, locked drafts, scene numbers and page setup. Your other screenplays are not changed.

  3. If the title matches another screenplay, read the message and type a different title.

The dialog says Another screenplay here already has this title. Choose a different title.

  4. Choose Rename Screenplay…, edit Title *, and click Rename.

Only the name changes. Drafts and their text stay as they are. Cancel closes the dialog.

  5. Choose Delete Screenplay…, read the dialog, and click Delete Screenplay.

The screenplay and all its drafts move to Recently Deleted and stay there for 30 days. You can restore the screenplay with its drafts, locked drafts, scene numbers and page setup as they are now. If it is the only screenplay, the dialog says you can then start a new one or restore this one.

What you get

Your project holds the screenplays you need, and a deleted one can be restored for 30 days.

Watch out for

  • Delete Screenplay is not permanent. Open Recently Deleted to restore it within 30 days.
