ScreenplayStart your first screenplay in an empty project
Create a screenplay when the project does not have one yet.
Before you start
- A project is open and it has no screenplay.
Steps
Click Screenplay in the left rail.
A project with no screenplay shows Write your screenplay or import one you already have. Three buttons follow. New Screenplay starts a blank script. Build from Beat Board makes the first scenes from your Beat Board cards. Import Screenplay brings in a file you already have.
Click New Screenplay. In the New Screenplay dialog, type the title in Title *.
The dialog says a screenplay is separate, with its own drafts, locked drafts, scene numbers and page setup, and that your other screenplays are not changed. The hint under the box suggests, for example, the short version, or a second episode you shoot together. Create Screenplay needs a title.
Click Create Screenplay.
The dialog closes and the editor opens on the new screenplay. The picture shows a script that already has pages, so you can see the whole layout.
What you get
A screenplay with a first draft is open and ready for typing.
Watch out for
- To build scenes from the Beat Board instead, use Build from Beat Board. See the Story tutorials, Build a screenplay from the board.
- To start from a file, use Import Screenplay. See the Import a screenplay tutorials.
