Production Plan: overview and catalog

Open the Catalog and read the list

Find your way around the Catalog tab and understand each column.

Beginner3 stepsWindows

Before you start

  • A project is open.

Steps

  1. Click Production in the left rail, then click Catalog in the tab strip.

The page asks: What things does this film need? Reusable items, not one huge spreadsheet. The orange Add Item button and the Export button are at the top right.

  2. Read the table. Click a row to look at an item.

NAME is the item. CATEGORY has a coloured dot and icon, for example Prop, Wardrobe or Vehicle. STATUS is Required, Searching, Shortlisted, Confirmed or Not Required. USED IN lists the scenes that use it, or says Not used yet. The table holds the items of your project, such as Marine radio receiver, Soldering iron, Lakshmi's travel kurta and Night bus in the example.

  3. If a project has no items, you see an empty page instead.

It says The catalog is empty. and adds: Confirmed breakdown items will appear here, or add one manually. The Add Item button is under the message. Items you confirm in the Breakdown appear in the Catalog on their own.

What you get

You can read the Catalog and know where each item comes from.

Watch out for

  • The Catalog has no cost, supplier or purchasing fields. The drawer says so: No financial or procurement fields. This is a production directory.
