Production Plan: overview and catalogOpen and edit a catalog item
Change an item's name, status, notes, image and other names, and see which scenes use it.
Before you start
- The Catalog has at least one item.
Steps
Click a row, or right-click it and choose Open.
The row menu has Open, Open Scenes, Archive… and a red Delete… under a divider. Open Scenes is greyed out when the item is not used in a scene.
In the drawer, edit Name *, change Status, and type a Description and Notes.
The drawer is headed CATALOG ITEM and the name. Category is shown for reference and cannot be changed here. Status is a menu: Required, Searching, Shortlisted, Confirmed or Not Required. Text fields save when you click out of them or press Enter. A name cannot be left empty, because the old name comes back.
Type a reference in Contact / reference, and click Add Image to pick a picture.
Contact / reference is private: only Owners and Editors see it, and it is never shared with OpenFrame AI or put in exports. Add Image opens the Windows file window. Once there is a picture, it shows in the drawer with a small x to remove it.
Under Also known as, type another name in Add another name and click Add.
Other names used in the script help match this item in new scenes. Each name shows as a small label with an x to remove it. Add stays greyed out until you type something.
Look at Used in scenes, then click Open Scenes in the footer.
Each scene shows as a small label, for example Scene 1. Clicking a label opens that scene in the Breakdown. Open Scenes is greyed out when no scene uses the item.
The Breakdown opens with a blue bar that names the item.
In the picture it reads Showing the 1 scene that use Soldering iron (Props), and a Show all scenes button on the right brings the full scene list back. Click the x at the top right of the drawer to close it.
What you get
The item has the name, status and notes you set, and you know which scenes use it.
Watch out for
- The Category of an existing item cannot be changed in the drawer. Add a new item in the right category if you picked wrongly.
- Changes save as you leave each field. There is no Save button.
