Production Plan: overview and catalog

Archive or restore a catalog item

Hide an item you no longer offer without losing it, and bring it back when you need it.

Beginner3 stepsWindows

Before you start

  • The Catalog has an item.

Steps

  1. Right-click the item and choose Archive…. You can also open the item and click Archive in the drawer footer.

Archive is the safe alternative to Delete. The item stays on record.

  2. Read the dialog and click Archive Item.

If the item is used in scenes, the dialog says how many and which. Archiving keeps those scenes readable but the item is no longer offered for new selections. If it is not used, the dialog says the item will no longer be offered and you can restore it at any time. Cancel keeps it as it is.

  3. Tick Show archived to see archived items. Open the item and click Restore in the drawer footer, or choose Restore from Archive in its row menu.

An archived item is drawn paler and carries an Archived label. Its drawer opens with a blue note: Archived: kept readable in its scenes, not offered for new selections. A message says it was restored from the archive, with an Undo link.

What you get

The item is hidden from the normal list but kept, and Show archived brings it back.

Watch out for

  • Archiving never removes the item from scenes that already use it.
  • An archived item is not offered when you choose items for new selections, so restore it first if you need it again.
