Moodboards

Edit an item's text, caption or link

Change the words on a note, the address or title of a link, and the caption of any item.

Intermediate5 stepsWindows

Before you start

  • A moodboard with a note, a link or a picture is open.

Steps

  1. Select an item and type in the Caption box in the toolbar, then press Enter or click away.

The caption is a short line about why the item matters. It shows under the item and is limited to 300 characters. A note shows its caption in small grey text under the note.

  2. To change more, double-click a note, or click Edit item. The drawer opens headed Note.

The drawer has the Note * box with the text, the check box Internal note, left out of exports unless selected, and a Caption box. Changes save when you click out of a box. Close shuts the drawer. Ticking the internal check box turns the note blue on the board.

  3. If you clear the whole note and click out of the box, read the message A note needs some text.

The old text stays saved until you type new text. Type something so the note is not empty.

  4. Open a link card with Edit item. The drawer is headed Link.

It has Web address *, Title and Caption, and an Open link button that opens the page outside OpenFrame. Edit a box and click out of it to save.

  5. Open a picture the same way. The drawer is headed Image.

For a picture, the drawer shows the original file name and a Caption box only. If the picture came from the Idea Vault, a line says it was copied from there and that changes here do not affect the vault. In this capture the drawer of a link card is still showing.

What you get

The item shows its new text, caption or address.

Watch out for

  • A note cannot be saved empty. A link needs a web address.
  • Double-clicking a link card opens the page. To edit it, click Edit item or use Edit… from its right-click menu.
