Moodboards

Move, resize, layer and delete items

Lay out the board by dragging items, changing their size and order, and removing what you do not need.

Beginner5 stepsWindows

Before you start

  • A moodboard with at least two items is open.

Steps

  1. Click an item to select it, then drag it to a new place on the canvas.

A board with nothing selected shows the hint Drag to move, Shift-click to select several, paste images or links with Ctrl+V. The new position is saved when you let go. Click empty canvas, or press Esc, to clear the selection.

  2. Look at the toolbar above the canvas now that one item is selected.

The toolbar shows a Caption box for the item, then Bring to front and Send to back, Edit item and Delete item. A small square handle appears at the bottom right corner of the selected item. Drag it to resize. Images keep their proportions unless you hold Shift while you drag.

  3. Click Bring to front to put the item above the others, or Send to back to put it underneath.

Use this when items overlap. With an item selected you can also nudge it with the arrow keys, and hold Shift for a bigger step.

  4. Hold Shift or Ctrl and click more items to select several.

The toolbar then says how many items are selected and offers one button, Delete. Dragging any selected item moves all of them together.

  5. Right-click an item to open its menu.

The menu has Edit…, Bring to front, Send to back and, for a link, Open link. Delete is at the bottom in red. With several items selected the last entry reads Delete 2 items, or the number you selected.

What you get

The board is laid out the way you want, and the changes are saved.

Watch out for

  • Deleting an item can be undone. A message appears after you delete, with an Undo link.
  • Delete and Backspace also delete the selected items when the canvas has focus.
