MoodboardsAdd pictures to a board
Put images on the canvas from a file on your computer, from the Idea Vault, by pasting, or by dragging them in.
Before you start
- A moodboard is open.
Steps
Click Add image above the canvas.
Add image does not add anything by itself. It opens a menu so you choose where the picture comes from.
Click From file… to pick pictures on this computer, or From Idea Vault… to use a picture you saved in the vault.
From file… opens the Windows window for choosing files, and you can pick more than one picture. The pictures are copied into your project. A message at the bottom says Added image, or Added 3 images for several.
In the Add image from the Idea Vault dialog, choose Project Idea Vault or Global Idea Vault, then click a picture.
The two buttons at the top switch between the vault of this project and your Global Idea Vault. A note says the image is copied onto the board and the vault item is not changed. Click a picture to add it. If a vault has no pictures, the dialog says There are no images in this Idea Vault yet. Cancel and the x close the dialog.
To add pictures another way, click the canvas and press Ctrl+V to paste a picture from the clipboard, or drag picture files from Windows File Explorer onto the canvas.
A pasted picture lands near the top left of the visible part of the canvas, and a message says Pasted image. A dragged picture lands where you drop it. Only picture files can be dropped. If you drop other files too, a message says Only images can be dropped on a moodboard. Other files were skipped.
What you get
The pictures appear as tiles on the board, and the item count next to the board name goes up.
Watch out for
- Adding a picture from the Idea Vault copies it. Changing the tile later does not change the vault item.
- If a picture file can no longer be found, its tile says Image unavailable and shows the file name.
