MoodboardsCreate a moodboard
Make a named board that opens as an empty canvas, ready for references.
Before you start
- A project is open and you are in Production.
Steps
In Production, click the Moodboards tab, then click New Moodboard.
A project with no boards shows only the heading and the New Moodboard button at the top right. Once a board exists, the page also shows Export and the board list.
In the New Moodboard dialog, click in the Board name * box.
Board name * is required. Under it, seven suggestion buttons offer common names: Overall Look, Cinematography, Production Design, Costume, Lighting, Character and Location. Click one to fill the name box, or type your own name. Reference for a scene lets you tie the board to one scene of your screenplay and starts on No particular scene. That choice is optional, and the box only appears when your project has scenes.
If you click Create Moodboard with the name empty, read the message Give the board a name.
Nothing is created until the board has a name. Type a name or click a suggestion, then try again. Cancel and the x at the top close the dialog without creating anything.
Click a suggestion such as Overall Look, or type a name, then click Create Moodboard.
The picture shows Overall Look chosen. You can also press Enter in the name box to create the board.
Look at the new board.
The new board is added to the board list with 0 items and opens as an empty canvas. The canvas says Drop images, notes and references here. Add image, Add note and Add link are above it.
What you get
A new, named moodboard is open on an empty canvas.
Watch out for
- The board name is required. Without it you see Give the board a name. and no board is made.
- A name is only a label. You can rename the board later from the board list.
