Call sheetsFind your way around the call sheet editor
See where each part of the sheet is and how editing and saving work.
Before you start
- A call sheet exists. Open it from the list with Open, or double-click its row.
Steps
Read the top of the page from the header down.
The header gives the sheet's name and status. On the paper, the masthead holds the production title and the shoot day card, the tinted band holds Crew call and the other times, and below come Production and Locations. The Source panel on the right holds the buttons.
Look at the colours of the boxes.
Boxes with a dashed outline can be edited. A red box that reads Needs input is a value nobody has typed yet. The text that comes from the schedule, such as scene headings, is plain and cannot be edited here.
Scroll the paper down.
Under Locations come the scene schedule, the group Cast & Crew with the cast table and any Crew section, and the group Production notes with Practical / Safety information. The paper scrolls on its own; the Source panel stays in place.
Type in any dashed box and stop.
OpenFrame saves the sheet by itself a moment after you stop typing, and the Source panel shows Saving… while it does. There is no Save button. Going back to the list, finalizing or refreshing also saves first.
Click the day link at the top of the Source panel, for example Shoot Day 4 · Thu 12 Nov 2026.
It opens that shooting day in the schedule, so you can check or change the source. Your edits to the call sheet are saved before it opens. Use the Back arrow or the Call Sheets rail item to return.
What you get
You know where the times, the notes and the buttons are, and that your typing is saved for you.
Watch out for
- Changes you type here stay in the call sheet. To change a scene, a time of day or the cast list, change the schedule or the breakdown, then refresh the call sheet.
