Breakdown

Keep or archive the breakdown of removed scenes

Find the breakdown of scenes that are no longer in the Production Source, and archive what you no longer need.

Intermediate3 stepsWindows

Before you start

  • A scene was removed from the Production Source and it had elements. The list footer shows Removed scenes.

Steps

  1. Click Removed scenes (N) at the foot of the scene list.

The page is titled Removed scenes and says: Scene removed from current source. Production data is kept here so nothing is lost; archive what you no longer need. Each removed scene is a block with its heading, from and the draft name, and an Open button. Its elements are listed under it with their category and an Archive button. Tick Show archived to include archived elements, which show an Archived chip and an Unarchive button. When nothing is kept, the page says Nothing kept from removed scenes. Back to Breakdown returns to the scene list.

  2. Click Open on a removed scene.

The panel is titled Removed scene and says: Scene removed from current source. Its breakdown is kept for reference. You can read the script and the elements. Mark Complete, Add Element, Suggest Elements and the scene number are not shown. The source bar shows only the number of scenes, because no current scene is open. The ... menu of each element still works.

  3. Click Archive on an element you no longer need.

A message says the element was archived, with an Undo link. Archiving hides it from this page unless Show archived is ticked.

What you get

Elements of removed scenes are either kept for reference or archived.

Watch out for

  • Nothing in a removed scene is deleted. Archive only hides.
