BreakdownBreak down a scene added by a script update
Find scenes that are new to production and have nothing broken down yet.
Before you start
- A production update added a scene.
Steps
Click Filter and choose Only missing a breakdown.
The list keeps scenes with no confirmed elements that are not marked complete. A new scene appears here until you add something to it.
Open the scene with the red Needs breakdown chip.
A new scene shows the Needs breakdown chip in the list. In the picture, scene 37 has a heading and no text yet, so the script says This scene has no text yet. The panel says Nothing broken down yet. You can still use Add Element, add something from Quick reuse or click Suggest Elements once the scene has text. The chip goes away when the scene has an element or is marked complete.
What you get
The new scene has a breakdown of its own.
Watch out for
- Write the scene in the Screenplay page. Breakdown reads the text, it never writes it.
