BreakdownAdd an element without tagging words
Add something a scene needs even though no single phrase in the script names it.
Before you start
- A scene is open.
Steps
Click Add Element under the categories in the panel.
Add Element sits beside Suggest Elements, below the Quick reuse row.
Choose a Category *, type a Name * and click Add to Scene.
The dialog is titled Add Element and asks: What does Scene 5 need? Pick an existing catalog item or create a new one. Category * starts on Props. Name * shows the hint e.g. Red Folder. Notes (optional) shows e.g. must look worn. The button, which reads Add to Scene followed by the number, stays greyed out until the name has text.
Check the catalog choice that appears under the name.
If the catalog has the same item, Use existing is selected for you. If it has several close ones, you must choose one. Otherwise Create new item is selected. Changing the category or name checks again.
Look at the panel.
The element appears under its category with its catalog status. Because you did not select words, nothing is underlined in the script. A message says Added the name to Scene 5, with an Undo link.
What you get
The element is part of the scene's breakdown and the catalog.
Watch out for
- Show in script has nothing to show for an element added this way. OpenFrame says the element was added without tagging script text.
