BreakdownEdit a suggestion or choose a catalog item
Fix the category or name of a suggestion, or pick the right existing catalog item, before you accept it.
Before you start
- A scene has a suggestion.
Steps
Click Edit on a suggestion.
The dialog is titled Edit suggestion with the name. It says Change the category, name or catalog item before accepting. The line matched: shows the words from the script. Category * is a list of the eleven categories. Name * holds the suggested name. Below is the catalog choice: Create new item with the name, noted Added to the production catalog. A small note says that if several items look similar you will see a list. Click Accept to confirm, or Cancel to leave the suggestion as it was.
If the catalog already has something similar, choose between Use existing and Create new item.
Then the dialog is titled Possible existing item with the name, and says: You are adding the name and category to the scene. The catalog already has something similar. Each similar item is a row, for example Use existing: Marine radio receiver, with Prop, Required and not used yet. A Similar chip means it is close. Same item means the name matches exactly. Create new item is always the last row. A warning, Several catalog items look similar. Choose one, or create a new item., shows until you choose, and Accept stays greyed out. After you choose an existing item the button reads Use Existing.
Change the Category * or Name * if you need to, then click Accept or Use Existing.
When you change the name or category, OpenFrame looks for matching catalog items again. The same dialog opens when you click Accept on a suggestion that has similar items.
What you get
The element is confirmed in the scene with the category, name and catalog item you chose.
Watch out for
- Pick Use existing when it is the same prop, person or place, so the Catalog counts every scene that uses it. A second item for the same thing splits the count.
