Schedule

Create the shooting schedule

Start a shooting schedule from your screenplay, with every scene waiting in the Unscheduled pool.

Beginner3 stepsMac

Before you start

  • The project has a screenplay. Breaking it down first helps the Schedule show locations and cast, but the schedule can be created without it.

Steps

  1. In the sidebar click Production, then choose Schedule in the pop-up at the top of the page. Click Create Shooting Schedule.

Until a schedule exists the page says: Create a shooting schedule from your screenplay. Below it, a line tells you the production source and how many scenes it has. Break down your script first, then move scenes into shooting days.

  2. Read the sheet that opens. Under Screenplay source, check the screenplay named there, then click Create Schedule.

The sheet shows the screenplay and its scene count. It says: All 10 scenes will start in the Unscheduled pool. Scenes that need a location or cast will show it from your Breakdown once available. Cancel closes the sheet and creates nothing.

  3. Look at the Board that opens.

A message at the bottom says Created the shooting schedule, with Undo and Dismiss. The Unscheduled column lists every scene, and the area beside it says: Create a shooting day, then drag scenes into it. The warnings button reads 0 warnings because nothing is scheduled yet.

What you get

A shooting schedule exists and all scenes are in the Unscheduled pool, ready to be placed in days.

Watch out for

  • Click Undo in the message right away if you created the schedule by mistake.
