Production Plan

Set a location's status and filter the list

Move a place from Idea to Shortlisted, Confirmed or Rejected, and see only the places in one status.

Beginner8 stepsMac

Before you start

  • At least one location exists.

Steps

  1. Click a location card to open its inspector. Use the status switch at the top.

The choices are Idea, Shortlisted, Confirmed and Rejected. Under it a note says: A status change never alters the screenplay.

  2. Click Confirmed.

The card now carries a Confirmed label. Photos, contact and safety details sit in the same inspector.

  3. Add more places. Look at the list.

The cards show each place's name, its status and how many scenes use it. In the picture, four places have four different statuses.

  4. Click Idea above the cards.

Only places at Idea show. The picture shows Night Bus Depot.

  5. Click Shortlisted.

Only shortlisted places show, here Signal Cabin.

  6. Click Confirmed.

Only confirmed places show, here Old Railway Station. Overview counts places still at Idea or Shortlisted as unresolved.

  7. Click Rejected. Click All to see every place again.

Rejected places stay in the notebook, so you remember why you passed on them.

  8. Type in Search locations. If nothing matches, the page says No locations match.

Clear the box to see the list again.

What you get

Each place shows its status, and the filter shows just the ones you want.

Watch out for

  • A status is a note for the team. It never moves a scene or changes the screenplay.
  • Use Rejected, not Delete, to keep a record of a place you will not use.
