Production Plan

Add a location to your scouting notebook

Record a place you are considering, with its address and nearest hospital.

Beginner4 stepsMac

Before you start

  • Production is open.

Steps

  1. Choose Locations in the section pop-up.

The page asks: Which places can we use? A practical scouting notebook. A search box and the filter All, Idea, Shortlisted, Confirmed, Rejected sit above the list, with Show archived. With no places, the page says No locations yet. Add a location you are considering for the film. Only the name is required.

  2. Click Add Location.

A sheet opens with Name, Address / area, Contact, Nearest hospital and Status. A note says: Only the name is required. Confirming a location does not assign it to scenes. Add Location is off until you type a name.

  3. Type the name, for example Old Railway Station. Add the address and nearest hospital if you know them. Click Add Location.

Everything except the name can be added later. Pick a Status if you like. The sheet starts on Idea.

  4. Look at the new card and the inspector.

A card appears with the name, a status label and 0 scenes. The inspector opens headed LOCATION. It has the status switch, Photos with Add Photos, Name, Address / area, Contact, Safety (Nearest hospital and Emergency contact), Availability and Practical notes. A message says Added location “Old Railway Station”, with Undo and Dismiss.

What you get

The place is in your notebook with the status Idea.

Watch out for

  • Only the name is required. Fill in the rest as you scout.
  • Adding or confirming a location does not assign it to any scene. Scenes keep their own breakdown.
