Delete a catalog item

Remove a catalog item, knowing it can be restored for 30 days.

Intermediate2 stepsMac

Before you start

  • The Catalog has an item you are sure you do not need. Think about Archive first.

Steps

  1. Select the item and click Delete in the inspector, or Control-click it and choose Delete….

The sheet is titled Delete, then the item's name. It says: It moves to Recently Deleted for 30 days. The breakdown of 1 scene keeps its entry, marked “Catalog item removed”, until you restore it. A Used in line lists the scenes, and the sheet adds: Archiving is usually the better choice.

  2. Click Delete to remove the item, or Cancel to keep it.

The item goes to Recently Deleted. You can restore it from there within 30 days.

What you get

The item leaves the Catalog and waits in Recently Deleted for 30 days.

Watch out for

  • Scenes that used the item keep their breakdown entry, marked Catalog item removed, until you restore the item.
