Browse, filter and search the Catalog

Find a prop, wardrobe item, vehicle or other production item quickly.

Beginner8 stepsMac

Before you start

  • Production is open.

Steps

  1. Choose Catalog in the section pop-up.

The page asks: What things does this film need? Reusable items, not one huge spreadsheet. A new project is empty. The page says The catalog is empty. Confirmed breakdown items will appear here, or add one manually.

  2. Once items exist, read the table.

The columns are Name, Category, Status and Used in. Each category has a colour dot and an icon. Used in lists the scenes that need the item, for example Scenes 1, 2. Items come from the accepted Breakdown, or you add them yourself.

  3. Click Props above the table.

The filter keeps only props. All is selected when the page opens.

  4. Click Wardrobe, Vehicles, Cast or Locations to see those items instead.

Only one category shows at a time. The picture shows Wardrobe with one item.

  5. Click Cast.

Characters are catalog items too. Each shows its scenes in Used in.

  6. Click Locations.

Locations that scenes use appear here as catalog items. Planning notes about a place live in the Locations section.

  7. Click More to see the other categories.

The menu lists Extras / Background, Hair / Makeup, Special Effects, VFX and Animals. Choose one to filter by it.

  8. Click Search catalog and type a word. If nothing matches, the page says No catalog items match.

Check the spelling, or clear the box to see the list again. Search and the category filter work together.

What you get

The table shows only the catalog items you are looking for.

Watch out for

  • If an item seems to be missing, check that the filter says All and that Show archived is not hiding it.
