Production PlanAdd an item to the Catalog
Create a reusable production item by hand, with a category, name and status.
Before you start
- The Catalog section is open.
Steps
Click Add Item at the top right.
A sheet opens that says: A reusable production item. Scenes that need it are linked from the Breakdown. It has Category, Name, Status and Description (optional). Add Item is switched off until you type a name.
Click the Category pop-up and choose a category.
The categories include Extras / Background, Location / Set, Hair / Makeup, Special Effects, VFX, Sound and Animals, besides the ones in the filter row such as Props and Wardrobe.
Type the item's name in Name. If the name already exists, read the note under the box.
The note says, for example: The catalog already has “Umbrella”. Adding creates a separate item; to reuse it, link it from the Breakdown instead. You can still add the new item if you want a second one.
Type a name such as Folding umbrella. Leave Status on Required, or choose another. Add a Description if you want.
The Status pop-up starts on Required. Description is optional.
Click Add Item in the sheet.
The sheet closes, the new item appears in the table with Not used yet in Used in, and its details open in the inspector. A message says Added “Folding umbrella” to the catalog, with Undo and Dismiss.
What you get
The item is in the Catalog and ready to be linked to scenes from the Breakdown.
Watch out for
- Add Item stays off until the name is filled in.
- A new item shows Not used yet. Link it to a scene from the Breakdown. Adding it here does not tag any scene.
- Click Undo in the message straight away if you added an item by mistake.
