Idea VaultSend an idea to the Beat Board
Turn an idea into a beat, scene card, sequence idea or character note without losing the original.
Before you start
- The vault has an item. The project has a Beat Board.
Steps
Open an item and click Send to Story at the bottom right of the inspector. You can also Control-click a card and choose Send to Story.
Nothing moves until you confirm in the next sheet.
Read the Send to Beat Board sheet.
It says: What should this become? This creates a copy. The original stays in your Idea Vault. A box shows the idea. Under What should this become? you choose one: Beat (a small story event), Scene Card (a compact scene reminder), Sequence idea (a group of scenes) or Character note.
Choose what it should become, then open Place it in and choose where it goes. Click Create Copy in Beat Board.
Place it in starts at Parking Lot. The note under it says: Or leave it in the Parking Lot. Cancel closes the sheet and creates nothing.
What you get
A copy is on the Beat Board and the original is still in the vault.
Watch out for
- This always makes a copy. Editing the copy on the Beat Board does not change the idea in the vault.
