Idea VaultRename folders, add subfolders and browse them in Folder view
Keep your folders tidy and move through them level by level.
Before you start
- At least one folder exists.
Steps
Control-click a folder in the list at the left.
The menu has Open, Rename…, New Folder Inside… and Delete Folder.
Choose Rename…, edit the Folder name in the Rename Folder sheet, and click Rename.
Cancel closes the sheet and keeps the old name.
Choose New Folder Inside…, type a name such as Depot, and click Create.
The subfolder is created inside the folder you chose. It shows indented under its parent in the list.
Click Folder in the View switch.
The top level shows All items as a path, then your folders as tiles with their item counts, for example Night scenes with 1 item, and under Items in this folder the items that are in no folder.
Click a folder tile to open it.
The path at the top now reads All items, then the folder name. A tile for each subfolder, here Depot with 0 items, shows above Items in this folder. Click All items in the path to go back to the top.
What you get
Your folders are named as you want, nested as you want, and easy to browse.
Watch out for
- Delete Folder is the last choice in the folder menu. Move any item you want to keep out of the folder first.
