Call Sheets

Read the call sheet and fill in the details

Find what came from the schedule, then type the call times, production details and location notes only you know.

Beginner5 stepsMac

Before you start

  • A draft call sheet is open.

Steps

  1. Look at the top of the sheet.

The masthead shows CALL SHEET · REVISION 1, the production title and a line such as 2 scenes · 2 cast members · 2 locations. The dark block shows SHOOT DAY 01, MONDAY 14 JUNE 2027 and Day 1 of 3. These come from the schedule.

  2. Click a dashed field in the strip of times, for example Crew call, and type the time.

The strip has CREW CALL, GENERAL CALL, SHOOTING CALL, BREAKFAST, LUNCH and EST. WRAP. Type each time the way you want it printed, for example 07:00. Each field you fill in takes one value off the Needs input count in the side panel.

  3. Under PRODUCTION, fill in Production company, Production address, Producer, Director, 1st AD and Production contact.

These six fields start empty. The title in the masthead is also a dashed field, so you can change what the sheet calls the production.

  4. Scroll to LOCATIONS and fill in Address, Meeting point, Access, Parking and Nearest hospital for each location.

Each location is a card with a number and the scene heading's place, for example 01 KESARGANJ JUNCTION - LOST PROPERTY OFFICE. A field that nobody has filled in reads Needs input in red. The side panel says how many values still read Needs input, for example 10 values read Needs input.

  5. Read the note in the side panel.

It says: Scenes, times, cast and locations come from the schedule. Editable fields use dashed highlights. Editing this sheet never changes the screenplay, breakdown or schedule. Your edits stay on the call sheet.

What you get

The call times, production details and location notes are filled in, and the Needs input count has gone down.

Watch out for

  • Fields you type into are kept on the call sheet only. They do not change the schedule or the locations in your production plan.
  • Do not send a sheet while values still read Needs input, unless you mean to leave them empty. Finalize tells you how many remain.
