Application HomeOpen the Global Idea Vault and capture an idea
Keep an idea that does not belong to any film yet, and find your way around the vault.
Before you start
- You are on Application Home.
Steps
Click Global Idea Vault at the top right.
The tooltip says: Your ideas outside any project (Ctrl+Shift+N for Quick Capture).
Look at the Idea Vault page, marked Global.
It says: Ideas across your whole filmmaking life. Copy them into a film when they are ready. At the top are Quick Capture and Recently Deleted. Below are Add, Record Note and a search box (Search ideas, tags, filenames). Grid, Card, List and Folder change how items are shown. The list on the left holds All items, Pinned, Recently added and Recently modified, then COLLECTIONS with New Collection, FOLDERS with New Folder, and TAGS. Your projects at the top left returns to Application Home.
Click Add to see what you can put in the vault.
The menu offers Note, Image, URL, File, Audio / Voice Note, Audio file…, Video, Quote, Sketch and Quick Capture (Ctrl+Shift+N). The Idea Vault tutorials explains each.
Click Quick Capture, or press Ctrl+Shift+N. Type your idea in the Idea box and click Save.
The dialog says Saving to your Global Idea Vault. Enter or Ctrl+Enter saves, Shift+Enter starts a new line and Esc cancels. Cancel closes it without saving.
What you get
The idea is saved in the Global Idea Vault, ready to copy into a film later.
Watch out for
- Quick Capture here saves to the Global Idea Vault, as the dialog says.
