StoryboardsLink a panel to a shot, or make a shot from it
Connect a storyboard panel to a shot of the same scene so the two stay together.
Before you start
- A scene storyboard has a panel, and the Shot Lists tab has shots for that scene if you want to link one.
Steps
Open a panel and look at the Shot section at the bottom of the drawer.
For a scene storyboard, the section has a list called Link Shot… and a Create Shot button. The list holds the shots of the scene, each with its number and description.
Pick a shot in the Link Shot… list.
The panel is linked at once and a message says Linked panel to shot. The section now shows a Shot 1A button and Unlink. Click the Shot button to jump to that shot in Shot Lists. The shot number also shows on the panel's top right corner.
Or click Create Shot to make a new shot from this panel.
The new shot is added to the scene and linked to the panel. A message says Created shot with its number. On a standalone storyboard, the section shows a list of scenes instead, so you choose which scene the new shot goes into.
What you get
The panel shows its shot number, and the shot lists the panel under Storyboard.
Watch out for
- Shots belong to screenplay scenes. If the project has no screenplay, the drawer says to add a screenplay to plan shots.
- Click Unlink to remove the link. The panel and the shot both stay.
