Link a storyboard to a scene, or make it standalone

Tie a standalone storyboard to a screenplay scene, move it to another scene, or cut the tie.

Intermediate3 stepsWindows

Before you start

  • A storyboard is open and the project has screenplay scenes.

Steps

  1. Click Storyboard actions and choose Link to a scene… for a standalone storyboard, or Change scene… for one that belongs to a scene.

Link to a scene… and Change scene… are greyed out when the project has no scenes. A scene storyboard also has Make standalone, which cuts the tie to the scene.

  2. In the Link storyboard to a scene dialog, choose a Scene and click Link Scene.

The list holds every scene of the script. Cancel closes the dialog. A message says Linked storyboard to Scene followed by its number.

  3. To cut the tie, choose Make standalone.

A message says Storyboard is now standalone. The panels stay.

What you get

The storyboard is listed under its scene, or under Other storyboards when it is standalone.
