Story and Beat BoardDelete an act, a sequence or a card
Remove part of the board without losing the cards inside it.
Before you start
- The Beat Board has an act or a sequence with cards.
Steps
Open an act's menu and click Delete.
The dialog is titled Delete the act's name. It says what the act holds, for example 1 Sequence and 2 cards and 1 beat, and adds: Your creative material is not deleted unless you choose that. The recommended choice is Move its contents to another Act. Pick the act under Move contents to, or Unassigned (keep aside). The button reads Move Contents and Delete Act.
Or choose Delete the Act and everything inside it.
The cards go to Recently Deleted and can be restored. The button changes to Delete Act and Contents. Cancel closes without a change.
To delete a sequence, open its menu and click Delete.
The dialog says how many items the sequence holds. The recommended choice is Move its cards out first. Under Move cards to, the first entry names the act where the sequence is now. You can also pick another act or another sequence. The button reads Move Cards and Delete Sequence.
Or choose Delete the Sequence and everything inside it.
The cards go to Recently Deleted. The button changes to Delete Sequence and Cards.
To delete a card or a beat, right-click it and choose Delete, or select it and press Del.
A message at the bottom has Undo. The item waits in Recently Deleted and can be restored. A card linked to a screenplay scene asks you to confirm first and says the screenplay scene will remain. Screenplay scenes are never deleted from the Beat Board.
What you get
The act, sequence or card is gone from the board, and its contents are kept or restorable.
Watch out for
- Choose Move to keep the cards on the board. Delete everything sends them to Recently Deleted for 30 days.
