Story and Beat BoardChoose what a card shows
Show more or less on each card, such as heading, location and day or night.
Before you start
- The Beat Board has scene cards.
Steps
Click the ... button at the right of the toolbar, then Card Display Settings….
The menu has two choices: Card Display Settings… and Apply Board Order to Screenplay….
Read the dialog and pick a preset under PRESET.
It says: Choose what minimized Scene Cards show. This changes only your view; the story and the screenplay stay exactly as they are. Minimal shows the short description with small markers for a heading and comments. Story adds the heading, the start of the long description, notes and characters. Production shows heading, location, day or night, attachments, revisions, breakdown and shots. Custom is any mix. The list SHOW ON MINIMIZED CARDS has a box for each item.
Tick or untick boxes, for example Scene Heading, Location and Day/Night, then click Done.
Ticking a box switches the preset to Custom. The boxes are Scene Heading, Short Description, Long Description Preview, Notes, Attachments, Character Count, Location, Day/Night, Comments, Revision/Change, Breakdown Status and Shot/Storyboard Status.
Look at the board.
Each card now shows its heading, its short description and its location with day or night. Open a card to read and edit everything it holds.
What you get
The cards show the details you chose.
Watch out for
- This setting affects only how cards look. Nothing in the story or the screenplay changes.
