Project window and navigation

Start from the Home page of a new project

Know what a brand new project's Home page offers and how to begin.

Beginner2 stepsWindows

Before you start

  • You have just created a project, or opened one with nothing in it yet.

Steps

  1. Read the Home page of the new project.

It says: Start with your ideas, build your story, or open a screenplay. Under the title it shows the type, the status (Status: Idea) and when it was created, for example Created 2 minutes ago. The top right has the status chip and Project settings.

  2. Click one of the three cards: Open Idea Vault, Build Story or Write/Import Screenplay.

Open Idea Vault says: Collect thoughts, images, links and notes about the film. Nothing needs to be organised yet. Build Story says: Arrange acts, beats and scene cards on the Beat Board until the story works. Write/Import Screenplay says: Start writing, or import a screenplay you already have. You can move between them at any time.

What you get

You are in the part of the project that fits where you are, and the Home page fills in as you work.
