Apply, rename, export and delete your own themes

Manage the themes listed under My Themes.

Intermediate6 stepsWindows

Before you start

  • At least one theme is saved in My Themes.

Steps

  1. Look at the My Themes list. Each row shows a preview, the theme name and By and the author's name.

A message at the bottom says the theme is saved to My Themes. The theme in use carries an In use chip. Every other row has Apply. Each row also has Rename, Export and Delete.

  2. Click Apply to switch to the theme.

The whole window changes at once. The mode, Light or Dark, stays as you set it.

  3. Click Rename. In the Rename theme dialog, edit the Theme name and click Rename.

The hint says Up to 60 characters. Rename is greyed out when the name is empty or too long. Cancel keeps the old name.

  4. Click Export and choose where to save the file in the Windows save window.

The file is named after the theme and ends in .json. A message says Saved with the file name. Use Export to back up a theme or to give it to someone else.

  5. Click Delete. Read the question and click Delete Theme.

It says the theme is removed from My Themes, that this cannot be undone and that you should export it first if you may want it again. If the theme is in use it adds that OpenFrame Default is applied. Your projects are not affected. Cancel keeps the theme.

  6. Look at the message at the bottom: Theme deleted.

If the deleted theme was in use the message says Theme deleted. OpenFrame Default is applied. My Themes goes back to its empty note.

What you get

My Themes holds only the themes you want, and the window uses the theme you chose.

Watch out for

  • Delete cannot be undone. Export a theme first if you may want it again.
  • A saved theme that can no longer be read shows This theme cannot be used. on its row and only Delete is offered.
