Export a diagnostics file for support

Read what a diagnostics bundle contains and save it as a file you can attach to a support message.

Intermediate4 stepsWindows

Before you start

  • A project is open and you are on the Project settings tab.

Steps

  1. Scroll to SUPPORT and click Export Diagnostics….

The section says: If you contact support, you can attach a diagnostics bundle. You can read everything in it before you save it. Nothing is sent automatically.

  2. In the Export Diagnostics dialog, read FILES IN THE BUNDLE and NEVER INCLUDED.

The purple note says: Nothing is sent automatically. The bundle is saved on this computer, and you decide whether to share it. Six files are listed with their sizes: manifest.json, summary.json, errors.json, timings.json, log-tail.txt and ai-status.json. Each has a one-line description. NEVER INCLUDED lists screenplay text, notes, comments and other project content, project titles, file names and folder paths, names, contacts and e-mail addresses, OpenFrame AI questions and answers, and passwords, keys and tokens.

  3. Click Show contents beside any file to read it. Click Hide contents to close it again.

The text of the file opens under its row, for example the manifest, which lists every file in the bundle with its checksum. Read as many as you like before you save anything.

  4. Click Export… and choose where to save the ZIP file in the Windows save window.

OpenFrame suggests a file name. Cancel closes the dialog without saving. When the file is saved, a window says Export complete with the file name, the number of files, the size and the location, and a line that says Nothing was sent. Reveal in File Manager shows the file in File Explorer and Close ends the dialog.

What you get

You have a ZIP file saved on this computer that you can attach to a message to support.

Watch out for

  • OpenFrame never sends the file. You decide whether to share it.
  • If the dialog shows a red message instead of the file list, the diagnostics could not be collected. Close the dialog and try again.
