ScreenplayReplace words in the script
Change one match at a time, or every match in a scene or in the whole script.
Before you start
- The find box is open and your word has matches. See Find text in the script.
Steps
Type the word to change in the Find box, for example radio.
Matches are highlighted. Choose Whole script or This scene before you replace anything.
Type the new word in the Replace with box, for example receiver.
The picture shows radio in Find and receiver in Replace with, with Whole script chosen.
Click Replace to change the current match, or Replace All to change every match in the chosen scope.
Replace changes the current match. Replace All changes every match in the chosen scope at once, so check Match case and Whole word first.
When nothing is left, the box says No matches found. Press Esc to close the find box.
This is the same state you see when a search has no matches.
What you get
The words are replaced where you asked, and the script is saved as usual.
Watch out for
- Replace All works on the whole script when Whole script is on. Switch to This scene first if you only want one scene changed.
